Canadian Men’s Ice Hockey play a perfect game vs. Korea | Day 9 | Winter Olympics 2018 | PyeongChang


A match against Olympic champions Canada was likely to be a daunting prospect for the Republic of Korea in Men’s Ice Hockey.

Canada experienced Olympic campaigners, hoping for a third successive gold medal at PyeongChang 2018.

Korean goalkeeper Matt Dalton made several early saves and looked set for a busy night.

Dalton eventually beat by Christian Thomas.

Lifted by the home fans at the Gangneung Hockey Centre, South Korea fought back well.

A fine save from Kevin Poulin preventing an equalizer from Ahn Jin Hui.

Canada’s second goal was scored by Eric O’Dell, reacting well to a rebound.

Maxim Lapierre then made it 3-0. There was little room to work in but he found a way through.

Gilbert Brule knocked in a fourth goal.

A comfortable win in the end for Canada. The Republic of Korea emerging with a great deal of credit, especially Dalton who faced 49 shots on his goal.

Final Score – Canada 4, Republic of Korea 0.
