Czechs go to Ice Hockey Semi-Final by kicking out USA | Day 12 | Winter Olympics 2018 | PyeongChang


On day 12 of the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, the Men’s Ice Hockey Quarter-Finals took place between the Czech Republic and the United States of America.

It was the USA who took the lead in the 7th minute when Ryan Donato surprised the Czechs with this long-range strike. But the Czech Republic equalised from a shot even further out. In the second period, the Czechs took the lead with another impressive shot from distance. This time it was Tomas Kundratek who found the power and accuracy to beat the goalkeeper.

But their advantage lasted only two minutes. With a player serving a penalty, the USA had only five left on the ice. Nevertheless, they broke away on the counter-attack and Jim Slater made it 2-all. The score remained 2-2 until the end and so it went to a penalty shot shoot-out which ended 3-2 for CZE

The Czechs reach the Semi-Finals. The USA’s PyeongChang 2018 experience came to an end.
